The online application for the 2025 SIEML program, hosted by the UC San Diego Rady School of Management is open!

First time users must register and create a user name and password. Once you register, you can login and start your application, finish your application, or save and submit it later. Take your time completing your online application, and save your prog­ress on each page before moving to the next section. 

What’s Required to Complete Your Application

To be considered for the program we must receive the following materials by application deadline, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:59PM (PST):

1. A submitted application
2. A letter of recommendation (preferably from one of your instructors)
3. An essay statement
4. An official electronic copy of your transcripts (including transcripts from courses that you transferred from another institution if the course(s) and grade(s) are not listed on your official transcript)
5. An updated copy of your résumé
6. Your Fall 2024 class schedule

Letter of Recommendation

We are interested to know how your professors evaluate your leadership skills, potential for success in a graduate business school program, and your aptitude and interest in developing your quantitative skills. We strongly recommend that applicants seek letters from their instructors, or campus administrators; however, we will also accept letters of recommendation from your managers or supervisors. Your letter of recommendation must be submitted online by your recommender. Please note while your application is due on January 8th at 11:59PM PST, your recommender will have until Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 11:59PM PT to submit materials. Additional information is available once you log into the online application. 

Please note, the email invitation from our system for your recommender sometimes routes to junk or bulk mail. Please have them check those folders if they are experiencing any issues. You can also share the prompt below and ask them to email their responses using their professional email account to:sieml@ucop.edu for help matching it with your file.

We greatly appreciate your help in providing a letter of recommendation for this all-expenses-paid immersive business and career leadership experience which can lead to two years of full fee and tuition fellowships at any of the six University of California graduate business schools. Please specifically address the three items noted below and evaluate accordingly:

• The applicant’s leadership skills and/or accomplishments.
• The applicant’s interest in and/or potential for success in a graduate business school program.
• The applicant’s aptitude and interest in quantitative skill building.

Essay Statement

The essay is your opportunity to share what type of leader you are, what leadership and career skills you are interested in developing, and your interest in attending a graduate business program. This will help us better understand the leader you will become and how SIEML can help you prepare to accomplish your goals. Your essay should be a maximum of 750 words single or double spaced.

Transcripts

All applicants are required to submit an electronic copy of their official transcripts. If your school does not have electronic transcripts, please scan a paper copy of your official transcripts and upload them with your application. If you transferred courses from another institution and the courses and grades are not listed on your official transcript, you must also upload official copies from the other institution.

Fall 2024 Schedule

Please attach copy of your fall 2024 schedule. It does not have to be an “official” copy, but it should be from your campus system (e.g. student enrollment system).
